feed not updating

Postby Bernd on Wed Dec 17, 2008 21:07

I have two feeds from one blog:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/stadt-bremerhaven/dqXM (for entries)
http://feeds.feedburner.com/KommentareFuerCaschysBlog (for comments)

If i try to add it to my list (online-demo shows the same problem), there are only old entries which are older than a few hours/days. The source-code of the feeds shows all current entries, so the problem seems to be within tt-rss :(

With other feeds i have no problems, updating is working right.

Weird. The newest posts are not recognized by either magpie nor simplepie, but the rest of the feed parses fine. That's a new one, never seen stuff like this before.

I'll try to debug it some more later today.

Well, the missing articles mysteriously appeared for me. I think it's feedburner doing something weird with the feed, although I have no idea why.

Strange. Source-Code has never changed and was fully available all the time

Currently everything works fine and i get new entries.

I hope, i have found the problem...

Could it be a problem with time-format? I have checked some other feeds from feedburner and i only get updates from the feeds in the AM-time, if it is 12 PM and later, i get no updates from the feeds until it is midnight again.

Personally, I think feedburner just lags. Otherwise the data would be in the feed, wrong timestamps or not.

Why should feedburner have a lag? I can see the entries in Firefox, if i watch the xml-source of the feed. :|

The problem is still alive... if a new entry is after 12 o'clock i don't get updates from all feedburner-feeds, for example http://feeds.feedburner.com/basicthinking/doho

12 hours later (at 0 o'clock in the morning) i get new entries again until 12 o'clock. It is not only my problem, you can check it on http://tt-rss.org/demo/ too.

Try doing this: open the feed which doesn't display new stuff in tt-rss in your browser, see whether there are new articles, save the .xml file and open it in tt-rss (e.g. place it on your server or something and subscribe to that).

Don't forget to check so that browser actually saves the raw xml, not the pretty html which is generated by applying the xsl stylesheet.

I have done this way. The copied feed on my own server is updating and showing new entries. The one from feedburner does nothing

But why? The new entries are already there and i can see it with the browser, so why doesn't like tt the feedburner-server?

Well, nobody stops them from limiting content by HTTP User-Agent header. Naturally, I have no idea why, but they can easily do that.

But i get no "update errors" in preferences. Everything seems to be ok there.
