Latest update (1.3.4) breaks php4-compatibility?

Postby Usul on Wed Oct 21, 2009 19:27

After updating to 1.3.4 the update daemon doesn't work anymore:

Code: Select all
parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /var/www/tt-rss/lib/htmlpurifier/library/HTMLPurifier/Bootstrap.php on line 38

Google says, that this code isn't possible in php4, is this correct? I'm not a php professional ;) The mentioned library wasn't there in 1.3.3, so this is a new problem, i think.

I'll try it in php5, wish me luck.

Update daemon runs well with php5. Anyway, this should be fixed or people should be warned about that. Since 1.3.4, tt-rss doesn't work with php4 anymore.

I'll mention it on the wiki. This library should be easy enough to hack out if anyone is still stuck on php4.
