This should be enabled by "Please make stuff like Google Reader" checkbox during the installation.

Nonono I got it!

Make the "Make it like Google Reader" installation option. If the user checks it, the only thing UI has is "this service is discontinued" in big, friendly letters

Sick retort, dude. Totally explains why date handling should be changed.

Urge to implement as a default config.php directive: rising.

[bites tongue]

Sorry couldn't keep quiet. It isn't about ego's. It is about accepting what is and what will be based on the person that makes the decisions. Fox tries looking out for the group as a whole. Some agree and some don't. That is what's good about open source. If you don't like it you modify it or move on as YOU have nothing invested. If you would like to take the time to listen, learn, accept then welcome aboard. If not Fork-it or move on.

My apologies Fox if I over-stepped, but thanks for a wonderful reader that I have been using daily for years.

I've been lurking about for a couple of days, after installing ttrss earlier in the week.

but, that comment prompted me to register.

BRAVO, *applause*

well done sir.

yes, I liked greader, and yes, I'm here because it's getting shut down, but I didn't think it's the end all, be all of readers, and I'm interested in seeing what other advantages tt-rss has over it, (besides being able to filter crap out of the feeds... OH THANK YOU!). ;)

Oh but it is. Read the thread. I have uncovered that the almighty developer isn't all knowing. So understandably what followed was inevitable.

I actually work as an open-source developer, working on a fork of the Torque batch system. So yeah, I do know how it works.

Somehow I'm still hoping for professional polite response when I post a question into a support forum. Oh well... should have known better by now.

This is kind of pathetic, but OK, let's go through the thread:

  • I'm inventing terminology
  • the feeds are sorted by publication date
  • I'm not reading
  • the feeds I read suck
  • youtube should fix their shit

And that's before the thread exploded into this nonsense.

EDIT:
For those who won't bother reading the thread, the information that is actually relevant to my initial question is:

  • the feeds are sorted by update/modification date
  • this is from external API so it won't be fixed internally
  • even if the external API provides support for publication date, it most likely won't be included as an option
