Description
I think that when the user disables favicons in the feed list, then the special feeds should still have their icons and all the other feeds would see the generic feed icon. http://www.feedicons.com/
The special feeds’ icons have meanings. So I think it is wrong to hide them when hiding the favicons. Using the generic icon for all feeds is just a way separate multiple feeds. Like a dots in front of items in the list.
The disable favicon option would still improve performance as there would only be one instead of a bunch of icons to load. (The default icon is already needed elsewhere in the app.)

1) I'm not sure that would be logical - FWIW, the option reads "Display icons in feedlist", not "Display feed icons".
2) Actually, I can't recall why I made this an option to begin with. It makes some sense for mobile version (for example, on my iPaq hx4700 PocketIE is bad at displaying any icons in feedlist, it goes all weird with wrong sizes), but for the main version... meh. The performance/bandwidth settings are negligible. The icons should sit in browser cache, they are just static files.
