UpdatingFeeds doesn't work on any distro I have at hand

Reported by: trac-user Assigned to: fox

Description

There are some problems with UpdatingFeeds option 5:

On Fedora, there is no such thing as /usr/sbin/update-rc.d so that fails. On Ubuntu, there is no such thing as /lib/init/vars.sh so actually running the init.d script fails.

(And of course, 1.2.20 doesn't seem to exist yet, so documenting it seems... weird. :)

You can just run update_daemon.php manually from the shell. I've updated the documentation, seems that when rewriting the page we forgot about the old-fashioned way to run stuff.

This way I won't forget to update wiki when .20 is released. :)

btw, I always welcome volunteers to update and clean-up the wiki.

Sure, if you want to give me an account I can do some wiki gardening.

Great! Email me at cthulhoo(at)gmail.com with desired login, I'll add an account for you.

It would be even better if you could appear on IRC before writing something up.
