graymattr wrote:Love the plugin, with one minor exception that I am hoping someone might be able to help me tweak:

Is it possible to always push the next article to the top of the screen (like the default theme does), rather than moving the focus down the page when I reach the end of unread articles? I use a portrait monitor where this change is more obvious, and I find I prefer to park my eyes in one spot and let the articles move to the top.

Happy to explain more if that doesn't make sense. Thanks so much for the theme!!

Thank you for your feedback, graymattr. I know exactly what you mean - and removed this feature because (not only) this (but also every) theme looks somehow messed up.

Update:
I reimplemented this in the latest commit using pseudo elements and making sure there is only as much whitespace after the feed titles, as you need to display the current feed on top.

Hi,

i like your theme! I noticed, that in combined mode the crollbar at the article-list is missing. Bug or Feature?

There is a themed scrollbar (Chrome/Chromium only). If you can't see it and also can't perceive that there are two different background colors used in the toolbar (white and light gray), the problem may be your display - I also realised this at work: on my DVI display I can perceive every shade of grey used in the theme but on the analog one i cannot.

I tried to improve the contrast a *little* bit in the latest commit - without affecting the theme more than needed (;
If it's still to bright for your needs, feel free to change it in your instance - as long as you use the git method for updating, future commits should not affect your changes.

Code: Select all

// clean-greader-css/main.css - line 31++
::-webkit-scrollbar-track {
  background-color: #EEE;
  margin: 1px 0 2px 0;
}

You can find the colors I used in the theme in the clean-greader.css if you need some help with matching colors.

Code: Select all

/**
  * color codes
  *************
  * color           code      example
  ***********************************
  * white           #fff      card backgrounds
  * medium gray     #d8d8d8   read article header
  * medium gray     #e5e5e5   main background
  * medium gray     #eee      navigation mouse over
  * dark gray       #737373   selection text
  * red             #dd4b39   selected tree
  * dark gray text  #333333   tree text
**/

that looks better now (imho).

any idea, why the buttons "All, Unread, Invert, None More..." are styled to a nice font, but the buttons DisplayType, sortOrder and marRead are not (see attachment) ?

tbh the difference between them is, that the font on the drop down buttons is non-bold.
As the name says, the theme is pretty much influenced by Google services like Google Reader, GMail or G+. As I realized, the button font on GMail is bold indeed - looks like I focused too much on G+ where there are buttons using non-bold font. But I got to admit, the bold font matches the theme far better.
Thanks for your advices - just implemented this in the latest commit. (:

Is it easy to adjust the feed icons not to be faded?

just comment out or remove the following lines in main.css

Code: Select all

.claro .dijitTreeIcon {
   opacity: 0.4;
}

or overwrite the selector in your preferences (-> "Customize stylesheet") with

Code: Select all

opacity: 1;

Thanks for your support, isarpirat (:
In the latest commit I used the following snippet, to make sure that the feed icons won't fade - but the system icons need to otherwise they will be black.

Code: Select all

.claro .dijitTreeIcon:not([src^="feed-icons"]) {
  opacity: 0.4;
}

Good afternoon.
How can I expand the column with the categories? How can I place a message in the middle?
Thank you.

in main.css

Code: Select all

/* navigation - outer width of feeds holder*/
div#feeds-holder {
  -moz-box-shadow:    none;
  -webkit-box-shadow: none;
  box-shadow:         none;

  border: none;
  background: transparent;
  margin: 0 10px 0 0;
  padding: 10px 0 10px 10px;
  width: 300px !important;
}

the "width" part of the code is what controls the width of the feeds on the lhs. I changed mine to 300px so I could see more of the feed names.

it would be nice of the bar could be dragged though

You can re-enable the resizing by commenting out the following code:

Code: Select all

/* vertical splitter ( -> disable) */
.claro .dijitSplitterV {
  border-width: 0;
  display: none;
  width: 0;
}

Also make sure to comment out the mentioned width so your resizing will be saved and restored after a you reload tt-rss!

Sorry for the less frequent updates at the moment - I'm working on a complete rebuild from scratch (:

ah thanks for the tip - I did try to change that to "enable" but that didn't work.

I didn't think of commenting the whole block out though.
