@Sarah2433 - I fixed it to work with the latest version, you can nab the fork here: https://github.com/epyonavenger/tt-rss-tumblr

Re: Running update deamon on Ubuntu server

Your script has problems on *buntu13.10 because the php-module "pcntl" is missing. The ttrss-log contains the entry: error: This script requires PHP compiled with PCNTL module. I followed the instructions from https://morevine.wordpress.com/2013/10/27/tt-rss-enable-php-pcntl-in-ubuntu-lin...

Re: Errors With Foreign Characters In Some Feeds

To report back on the issue, no problems since nuking my install + PHP.

The errors come back if I turn on language detect, but now go away properly with it off.

Thanks very much for the assistance!

Re: Errors With Foreign Characters In Some Feeds

I did, actually. I also tried running the update daemon interactively as opposed to a service, just for funs. In any case, after nuking PHP + TT-RSS and redoing them both, I haven't seen it crop up again. I'll let it sit for a while and add some of the other feeds that exhibited the same behavior to...

Re: Errors With Foreign Characters In Some Feeds

I'll nuke my php/tt-rss and do a fresh install with the same db, see if it changes behavior and report back.

Re: Errors With Foreign Characters In Some Feeds

I've already got the language detection disabled, but I'll double-check I'm all en_US/UTF-8 on the rest of the system just in case.

Re: Errors With Foreign Characters In Some Feeds

Yes, I'm not sure why that crops up, but if I remove the feed all those errors go away. I can swap in any of the other feeds I've had the same issue with and it crops up again. So far as the DB goes, I've been using the default options in PostgreSQL on Ubuntu, nothing fancy. Do you have any language...

Re: Errors With Foreign Characters In Some Feeds

Yes, it works fine on the initial follow and population of the feed, it's subsequent updates that seem to be the issue.

Though if that's also working for you, I'm not entirely sure which avenue I ought to take to run down the problem.

Do you have any suggestions on troubleshooting steps to take?

Errors With Foreign Characters In Some Feeds

At least, that's what I assume the trouble to be? There have been a few Japanese, Korean, or Chinese language blogs I tried to add, but once I do after the initial population of the feed it seems to throw a bunch of errors and/or not update. Initially, I just thought it was bad feeds as they were bl...

Re: Running update deamon on Ubuntu server

Based on zero_divide_1's script. Update: Removed some unnecessary bits. Assumptions! 1. Your files are located in /var/www/tt-rss 2. Your web-server is running as www-data user and group. 3. You are using mysql as your database. How to Install 1. Make sure your tt-rss directory, user, and group are ...

Re: New Tumblr Plugin

I...don't think it'll work on 1.7.8. You would be better off running the old tumblr plugin for pre-1.7.9.

Re: Database Performance Question(s)

I had it set to "ON" before, but the MySQL performance breakdowns were highlighting that "ON" benefits high-read scenarios and "DEMAND" benefits high-write scenarios, since my issue was with many writes, I switched to "DEMAND". That said, I didn't notice a sig...

Re: Database Performance Question(s)

So, the PostgreSQL changes that AngryChris recommended worked out fairly well, I still see some slowness in queries but it's not too bad. I spent the rest of the evening trying to replicate in MySQL/MariaDB. From the default Ubuntu config on MariaDB I did the following to get somewhat similar result...

Re: Database Performance Question(s)

I've got APC ramped up pretty well, and I tuned MySQL/Postgres according to the walkthroughs and ideas people had here (and elsewhere) though I didn't see the work_mem suggestion before for this. I've got a decent RAID array on the system with its own cache, if I could afford a pile of SSDs for it I...
