Starting the update daemon on Synology NAS/generic Unix

This command should work on most Unixes where no fancy stuff like screen or start-stop-daemon is available. The only Synology specific thing is the user http , this should be replaced by the name of the user running the web server. This starts the update daemon as user http (the user apache is run ...

Re: Building a Firefox Addon

I've slightly increased the size of the number and moved the position a bit up. Also I've added some code to activate any existing open tab instead of opening a new one. Although it's a bit better, the number is still hard to read – maybe it's just my age :wink: But that's not that important to me....

Re: [git] Mobile site not working?

On my tablet, the standard look works pretty well. TTRSS wanted to take me to /mobile, so I had to remove the lines 34-42 in index.php. Since there are well working alternatives for phones: Will the whole "mobile check" thing be removed in future releases?

Re: Should embedded youtube videos work in 1.7.5?

I ask because I used to not see anything previous to 1.7.5. Now where the youtube embedded video should be displayed I see a black box but the video never loads. I use Firefox, and also only get a black box. When I reload the frame and have NoScript on, it shows that it blocks the iframe, but does ...

Re: Building a Firefox Addon

Successfully Installed it from Mozilla. Works fine. Only glitches: It's hard to read the number, and it always opens a new tab, even if TT RSS is already open.

Check for tar in update_self

I could not use the selfupdate because the tar on my machine does not recognise the '--version' flag. When I changed

Code: Select all

system("tar --version >/dev/null", $system_rc);

in include/update_self.php to

Code: Select all

system("which tar >/dev/null", $system_rc);

it worked.

Re: Tiny Tiny RSS on NAS; update daemon

I found the reason that

Code: Select all

sh: /usr/syno/bin/php: not found

is thrown: safe_mode_exec_dir ist set to /usr/syno/bin, and there aint no php there. :|
A symlink fixed this, but could someone mention this here?

Edit: Deleted FUD
A more detailed explanation can be found here.

Re: Any RSS Mac client with synchronization

I would also like an application like that. I guess the best bet is to convince the developers of Vienna to support Tiny Tiny RSS, since it recently got the ability to sync with google reader, see their homepage (I'd post a link, but am told Your post looks too spamy for a new user, please remove of...

Tiny Tiny RSS on NAS; update daemon

Recently, I installed ttrss on my NAS. Something very strange happens whenever I want to start the update daemon. I execute su -m nobody -c "/usr/bin/php /var/services/web/ttrss/update.php -daemon &" on the shell. This just delivers sh: /usr/syno/bin/php: not found and I have no idea w...
