Re: new feeds not loading

Fox, looks like the process might need to be restarted. I'm getting same error as before.
Thanks, David

Re: new feeds not loading

It was broken for most of yesterday PM. I guess it's nice when things fix themselves :D

new feeds not loading

When I log in, there's a red error message at the top: "Update daemon is not updating feeds." When I click on the error message, I get this: Update daemon is taking too long to perform a feed update. This could indicate a problem like crash or a hang. Please check the daemon process or con...

Re: Mark as Read button?

levine wrote:Is there a way to disable the confirmation dialog box from coming up after you click on Mark as Read?

Look under the Advanced section in Preferences. There's a "Confirm marking feed as read" option, which defaults to Yes.

RSS feed for individual forums?

Is it possible to add a feed for individual forums, such as the forum for Online users? I tried clicking the RSS icon in my browser address bar, but the feed link is the same no matter which forum page I have open.

'no image' option not working?

No biggie, but the option "Do not show images in articles" doesn't seem to work for me. Here's an example of a feed where the thumbnail images appear in the lower half of the window when "Do not show images" option is set to Yes. More than half the articles in this feed include t...

Hypernova, the All button on the Selection toolbar marks all items in the current window. Then use the Mark as Read action in the dropdown. One extra step.

Re: Mark as Read button?

OK. I had the wrong mental image of how a feed works. I thought it was like a ticker tape and the only time duplicates become a problem is when the provider deliberately updates the timestamp or includes an article in multiple feeds. I can see how standards could help the purging issue. For example,...

Re: Mark as Read button?

Did you delete them or mark as read? Those are completely different operations. I deleted everything after reading your previous post regarding your server resources. Afterward, I realized this breaks the ability of TT-RSS to suppress duplicates. I was trying to be helpful. ...disabled specifically...

Re: Mark as Read button?

Opps! regarding my previous post... I just realized purging articles that have been marked as read breaks the ability of TT-RSS to avoid duplicates. After manually deleting everything in my feeds, tons of articles are beginning to show up that I already saw :( The New York Times, Reuters, AP and oth...

Re: Mark as Read button?

The user does have the ability to delete selected articles using the selection drop-down. But unless this is done routinely, the process becomes cumbersome since you can only select articles that are currently in the window. I just spent 10 minutes deleting all articles since I set up TT-RSS last we...

Re: Mark as Read button?

Unless you explicitly disabled it, it should delete old stuff. Which Preference/Option disables deletion of read articles? Mine are not being deleted and I don't see any option related to deletion (although I thought I remembered there being one). (fox, this thread should probably be moved to the O...

Re: Mark as Read button?

To me, it makes more sense for Mark As Read to act on the entire feed or group of feeds, as currently implemented. Admittedly, my preference is influenced by the fact that Google Reader's Mark As Read button works the same way, and it's the only other reader I've used. In any case, it may be difficu...
