nameless was being nice; he didn't include the --no-preserve-root option.

This was a great thread though.

Anyway, maybe don't run PostgreSQL plugins when you're using MySQL.

Weird. I would have thought your style was more like: A PHP error occurred. Check the logs. You know how to do that, right? :)

OP: Glad you got things working.

Re: Change admin username

TT-RSS also logs failed login attempts so you can use something like fail2ban to block access.

Re: "Mark read up to" option

You mean, like the ability to right-click on an article's title and select mark all above/below as read?

You're in a for a real treat. ;)

Re: Perceptual image checking plugin

I think the PHP class name (Af_Zz_Img_Phash) and the plugin's directory name have to be the same?

Re: Query regarding feed fetch timeout

If by "search for feeds" you mean when TT-RSS fetches a remote feed to update articles, then those are set on lines 43-54 of include/functions.php. You can override the defaults by declaring the appropriate constants in your config.php file. Please keep in mind that a timeout value of 200 ...

Re: Craigslist Feeds no longer updating

If a web site is returning 403 that's not the client's fault it's the server's. Talk to the site's admin(s). If you're feeling particularly motivated, you can try a different user agent or fetch the content from another IP address. Usually sites block because of a rate limiting restriction or if the...

I'm using V1.63.. I'm very sorry if you are missing some information which I should provided. But it's no reason to hand out bad mood here... A lot has changed since the very first release ten years ago so without knowing the version, how can anybody possibly help? For all we know the bug you're de...

I think you mentioned before you found MySQL doesn't report errors on schema updates. And it looks like initially it was a text data type.

Re: Issue with subscribing to any rss feed

Yeah, your schema is wrong. PostgreSQL uses a text data type for that field, but still uses an empty string for the default value. You could fix that field to assign a default value: ALTER TABLE ttrss_feeds ALTER COLUMN last_error SET DEFAULT ''; But honestly I would be concerned that other aspects ...

Re: Issue with subscribing to any rss feed

It tells you what's wrong: Field 'last_error' doesn't have a default value This field should have a default value of an empty string. There were reports about MySQL 5.7 not working properly but I'm not sure if they were related to this. How long have you been running this install? Did you recently u...

Re: Plugin execution order

System plugins (defined in config.php) are hooked in the order they're declared (first in, first out). User plugins (checked in the Preferences/Plugins) I'm not sure about, but I think they're run in the order they're listed so if you rename a plugin to appear alphabetically before/after another one...

Not a problem. The transition is certainly not without its challenges. At the very least this thread can serve to provide more info to others about why things are the way they are.

MySQL and utf8mb4 (4-byte unicode support)

This is a follow-up to this thread: Trouble with latest xkcd cartoon I've spent some time on and off since the issue of MySQL's lack of 4-byte unicode support in the utf8 character set first appeared looking for a better long-term solution. I looked at how applications like WordPress handled their m...
