Chrome add feed via plugin

Postby rikels » 02 Jun 2013, 14:17

Hi Everyone,

i was trying to subscribe to a feed by clicking on the RSS icon on thier site. and using this plugin: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rss-subscription-extensio/hnjebfhieiaohnhafcolehbbcfkkkhje (it's like FireFox's way of adding a feed) I tried to add it to my Tiny Tiny RSS server. so i added Tiny Tiny RSS as a reader with the following url: http://URL.TO.TT-RSS/public.php?op=subscribe&feed_url=%s (URL.TO.TT-RSS is my default url to Tiny Tiny RSS). so that seemed to work for some subscriptions.

but on some other feeds i get the following error:
Could not subscribe to http://hak5.org/feed.
Can't download the Feed URL.

i came across this:http://tt-rss.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=905
but I couldn't find pref-feeds.php, so i tought it might be: feeds.php in the folder classes\pref\
and i added

Code: Select all

$feed_url = urldecode($feed_url);
to line 1007, guessing it wasn't going to work, as it's in the middle of another if script. i also tried to add it to line 554, but that also didn't work.

i don't think it's the plugin not working propperly, as it's adding some other feeds nicely.
like this one: Subscribed to http://www.berryterminal.com/feed.php?mode=list&ns=.

if anyone could help, a big Thanks in Advance!
with kind regards,
Rikels

can you subscribe to the affected feeds manually?

oh, yes forgot to mention that. i was able to do that.
edit: or maybe not :S

it was the same thing with:
http://services.runescape.com/m=news/latest_news.rss
which i was able to add manually, but not using the URL...
so i tired removing that feed, and resubscribing but now i also get an error adding it manually?
let me try a bit more, this is a bit confusing...
---
okay, i deleted the feeds from my subscriptions...
i tried adding it via the URL using the extension... did not work
i tried adding it via the URL manually... that did work

so maybe i must say i'm sorry, and that it actually is the extension!
i've removed the "provider" from the list of readers in the extension, and added it again. and now it seemed to work.

Sorry for wasting precious time!

can't download = network related problem most probably, especially if only specific feeds are affected

Sorry Fox, it seemed to add an invisible character at the end of the link... i've removed the "provider" from the extension's list, and added it. and now it seems to work!

Sorry for wasting precious time,
and thanks for the help!

Same thing here, using Chrome and the RSS Extension. There seems to be an invisible character at the end of the line that I copied from the FAQ (http://tt-rss.org/redmine/projects/tt-r ... dQuestions). I deleted the last characters and then added %s again.
