Invalid UTF-8 sequence in argument

Postby OgreMHDW » 20 Feb 2017, 01:06

I keep having an issue on some of my foreign feeds. The data appears to be latin based, but occasionally they include a character and tt-rss is unable to parse it, resulting in the feed not loading, instead I get an indefinite circle.

Checking the errors, I see:
E_WARNING (2) classes/feeds.php:970

1. classes/feeds.php(970): json_encode(Array)
2. backend.php(129): view()
json_encode(): Invalid UTF-8 sequence in argument

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix the issue?

one idea would be reading the support subforum rules, 2 weeks probation

also: tt-rss does not parse XML (libxml does) and neither would a "foreign" character break json_encode() unless you are using some kind of horribly broken abortion of a LAMP stack, which you likely are.
