OK, My first post... I get this same error... I am trying to make this system work (I now hate google reader)

I am hoping to get a little better answer then the last guy. Read the error message is not hard unless fox is talking about enabling some script to show where this error is being generated?

I see no other post about this error, so it must be simple...

At https://www.linux.com/learn/tutorials/3 ... y-tiny-rss it says " Make a copy of config.php-dist named config.php, and open it in your favorite editor. Right at the beginning are the most critical settings: DB_TYPE, DB_HOST, DB_USER, DB_NAME, and DB_PASS. By default, postgresql is selected as the DB_TYPE because it is the developers' preference; " AND "Most of the other settings can remain at their defaults, although it is always wise to read through the entire file. In particular, those using shared Web hosts should make sure that they can access the TMP_DIRECTORY and MAGPIE_CACHE_DIR directories."

I tried several things, path and directory settings, I do not have a magpie directory. Do I need one? Where would it go? In the root, or one level up?

This is a shared host.

What have others done to config this file for shared host?

Thanks for the help...

Alvin

The linux.com article says the same as the error message, using different words :)

"Most of the other settings can remain at their defaults, although it is always wise to read through the entire file.

the error message says only to read config.php which I have done front to back etc. and I have tried many things like putting a slash in front of the directory name and adding complete path etc. But so far only error...

The one thing that I have not tried yet is an install on localhost...

Other then that I don't know what else to try...

define('ISCONFIGURED', true);
// Please set this to true if you have read everything above and
// finished setting configuration options.
