Adding feeds with Google Chrome RSS Subscription Extension

Get the RSS Subscription Extension or equivalent. If you’re reading this, you probably already have it.
On the Extensions page, choose the RSS Subscription Extension‘s Options link.
Click Add…
Enter whatever you like for the description, and the following URL:

Code: Select all

https://$SERVER/public.php?op=subscribe&feed_url=%s

Where $SERVER is obviously wherever you’ve installed tt-rss. You probably have to have the external API enabled in preferences for this to work.

Thanks for the tip, works great.

Is there anything like this for firefox? I only use Chrome when I have to, I'd rather not give google all my data.

Nice, I hadn't thought of looking for an extension of this sort before, but I had noticed that RSS feeds are hard to find in Chrome. Opera auto-detects RSS feeds in exactly this manner which is really handy, but now I can add it to Chrome as well.

As per the auto-adding in TT-RSS, that is a nice extra touch.

I think the vanilla Chromium version will do Chromey stuff without phoning home to The Goog.
