importing json file trouble

Postby vnangia » 05 Mar 2014, 23:02

Hello, I've tried to import a starred.json file that's smaller than the PHP max upload size (file = 3mb, max upload size = 20mb), and I'm getting "Upload failed with error code 1".

I have tried searching, but there doesn't appear to be anything specific about error 1. If I'm reading init.php correctly, this seems to be an error originating from something outside the plugin, but I'm unclear what the underlying issue is. Any help is much appreciated.

Pretty sure the PHP post max size defaults to 2 MB. Try increasing that limit.

Was that directed to me, JustaMacUser? As you may have noticed in my original post, the limit on this machine, regardless of what the default was before I edited it, is 20MB. The file is under 3MB. If you still believe I should increase the limit, could you suggest a number? Would 100MB be sufficient? 250MB? Something else?

Try the command line importer instead?

You said the file was equal to 3 MB. Regardless, the post_max_size and upload_max_filesize are different settings. Larger file uploads require you to change both. Or use the command line like fox suggested.

So I tried:

Code: Select all

    /usr/bin/php /usr/share/tt-rss/www/update.php --greader_import ~/starred.json

and got the following error:

Code: Select all

PHP Warning:  include_once(/etc/tt-rss/database.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /etc/tt-rss/config.php on line 6
PHP Warning:  include_once(): Failed opening '/etc/tt-rss/database.php' for inclusion (include_path='/usr/share/tt-rss/www/include:.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in /etc/tt-rss/config.php on line 6
    Unknown DB_TYPE:

(Out of curiousity I attempted to sudo that, which resulted in "Please don't run this script as root")

That line 6 is the database line, /etc/tt-rss/database.php. However, when I check permissions, I get:

Code: Select all

    total 28
    -rw-r--r-- 1 www-data www-data   70 Mar  5 00:11 apache.conf
    -rw-r--r-- 1 www-data www-data  289 Jul 25  2013 avahi.service
    -rw-r--r-- 1 www-data www-data 8465 Mar  5 00:01 config.php
    -rw-r----- 1 www-data www-data  536 Mar  5 00:01 database.php
    -rw-r--r-- 1 www-data www-data   98 Jul 25  2013 lighttpd.conf

Is the owner or are the permissions not correct? If not, what should they be?

OK, having changed the database.php file to 0644 does seem to allow the script to work, but I simply get the help, as follows ... am I missing a step?

Code: Select all

Tiny Tiny RSS data update script.

    Options:
      --feeds              - update feeds
      --feedbrowser        - update feedbrowser
--daemon             - start single-process update daemon
--task N             - create lockfile using this task id
--cleanup-tags       - perform tags table maintenance
--quiet              - don't output messages to stdout
--log FILE           - log messages to FILE
--indexes            - recreate missing schema indexes
      --update-schema      - update database schema
      --convert-filters    - convert type1 filters to type2
--force-update       - force update of all feeds
--list-plugins       - list all available plugins
      --help               - show this help
    Plugin options:
--update_self         - update tt-rss installation to latest version

This was a message for you, and has more of his real name than his username did, so putting it here is a dick move.
