Well, it's not dead yet. I'm working on performance problems. I stopped new users from registering, but currently there is no reason to jump ship yet.

My post above was more of a general heads-up notice, which I suppose sounded more ominous than I intended. :D

Alright, I did some database tweaks (which mostly consisted of purging a year of old articles which were net expunged for some reason) and it seems to be chugging along nicely.

There is one change I had to make, though: I've fixed the purging interval for feeds at 60 days. I understand the usefulness of keeping several years of articles around just in case you need anything, but unfortunately the hardware I have for the task is not powerful enough for this to happen.

Starred articles are, of course, not purged.

Ed: Oh, and I've also reopened the registration.
